Bars, Brakes and Seating

I've added a set of Abbrosio Bars ( Volte Campione del mondo) which I had stored in the loft for the last 15 years and also added the Matching Cinelli XA stem, which I had stored with them.  The bars are in as good a condition as you can get and are very light.

The Seatpost is NOS Shimano 600

New Selle Italia Regal saddle.

Brake Calipers are perfect condition Shimano 600 BR-6207, short reach, nut fittting. I've put new shimano pads on here for safety and stored the originals.

The refurbished Frame and Forks

The Frame and Forks where dropped in to Bob Jacksons in Leeds for a repaint in Bianchi Blue. Decals supplied by Jacksons.

The build I've decided on is Shimano 600, with drive and gearing being Shimano ex 'Arabesque'. The shimano 600 headset is fitted in the picture being a sealed bearing unit running very smoothly.

Refurbished Ofmega Hubs

Finally got round to refurbishing the hubs.  There are no makers marks but most likely by Ofmega.  Matching Ofmega skewers.  Hubs have been refurbished , regreased and polished.  Front spacing 100mm,  rear 126mm.

The Saddle and Seatpost

The Saddle is made by Selle Italia and is marked up with the Bianchi name.  Good condition but has faded a little with use.

The seatpost is cromed steel, a generic make 26.2mm.  Some minor pitting to crome-work.

Headset for Bianchi Sprint

The headset is in fantastic condition with little wear to the races.  The bearings also in great condition.  The crome is nice and thick with no pitting.  No makers marks on this, though I assume it was made by Ofmega specifically for this Bianchi Sprint model.

The Simplex Transmission

The cheap bit about this bike was the transmission which is all Simplex, made in France and from the Bronze range of 1985.  Not of high quality but very functional and has lasted on this bike for 25 years or so, so can't be that bad.

The front derailleur is a Simplex SAX32 which has a date stamp April 1985.

Rear derailleur is also Simplex, model is SX 1 TP, max capacity 30 teeth rear.

Levers are also Simplex, model SJ 6311.

All items fully working and actaully shift quite nicely.
